Huntington Beach & Pier

Home to countless surf legends, Surf City USA first hit the map in 1914 when Hawaiian surfer George Freeth demonstrated surfing at the new concrete pier. In 1955, during an era of beach parties, Gidget and Woodies, the city's first surf shop, Gordie's Surf Boards, opened under the pier. Nowadays, the iconic Hintington Beach Pier stands as one of the longest concrete municipal piers in the country.

Measuring 1,850 feet in length, the iconic Huntington Beach Pier is one of the longest piers on the West Coast. Jutting out into the Pacific Ocean at the intersection of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway, it sumbolizes the heart of Huntington Beach and is the most photographed spot in town. A leisurely stroll offers stunning panoramic views af Catalina Island, Newport Beach to the south and Long Beach and San Pedro to the north; ariel scenes of the surf action; and, of course, photo ops.
