Parent Welcome Session
2 pm, Monday, June 25
Emens Auditorium

Family plays an important role in extending the benefits of a student’s camp experiences into everyday life. Parents are invited to attend the Opening Session on Monday, June 25 at 1:00 pm in Emens Auditorium. Stick around for a special Parent Welcome Session with MFA’s leadership expert Fran Kick at 2 pm. You don’t want to miss this special opportunity!

Each of the student division’s curriculum is designed to be immersive, offering students hands-on experience with renowned teaching and performing professionals. Several of the student divisions feature performances with guest artists during the camp week in addition to their final performance on Saturday, June 30.

Jazz Band performance with Buselli Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, Wednesday, June 27
Jazz Band division students have an incredible opportunity to perform on stage with the Buselli Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, during their Wednesday night concert on June 27. The concert starts at 8:00 pm in Emens Auditorium, Ball State University. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students and seniors over 65 and can be ordered through musicforall.org or purchased at the door. 

String students’ performance with Time for Three, Thursday, June 28
Each of the student division’s curriculum is designed to be immersive, offering students hands-on experience with renowned teaching and performing professionals. String students have an incredible opportunity to perform on stage with Time for Three during their Thursday night concert, June 28. The concert is at 8 p.m., in Emens Auditorium at Ball State University. String students will perform a piece with Time for Three on stage, which they will have rehearsed with Tf3 during the camp week. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students and seniors over 65 and can be ordered through musicforall.org or purchased at the door. 

Marching Band performance with Carolina Crown at DCI show, Friday, June 29
Marching Band division students have an incredible opportunity to rehearse and perform with Carolina Crown at the end of competition during Friday night’s DCI Central Indiana show, June 29. The show starts at 7:00 pm in Scheumann Stadium, Ball State University. Tickets are available through DCI directly, at dci.org, and range from $25-$30.

Beginning at 7:00 am on Saturday, June 25 MFA will offer a complimentary breakfast for parents of Symposium participants in the Atrium in the Art and Journalism Building.

At 7:30 am we will begin a special presentation about your child’s experience at the Symposium and what to expect from your child, beginning with the final performances and the trip home. You will meet your child’s Camp Director and participate in a session with one of the Camp’s instructors that is especially designed for you and your family. Reservations are required and can be made with the form below or online by Monday, June 25.

Parents and families are invited to join us after the morning’s performances for the festive Family Day Picnic. Enjoy a picnic on the Quad with the full camp, families, faculty and staff with a backdrop of music...you might even want to join in the all-invited Drum Circle!

The Family Day Picnic is followed by performances by the Symposium Marching Band, Color Guard, Marching Percussion and Drum Major Academy in Scheumann Stadium. Reservations for the picnic are strongly suggested, however, a limited amount of picnic tickets will be available for purchase on-site at the picnic.

Concerts & Performances
Saturday, June 30

Enjoy concerts and performances by your child in his or her area of study and from all the student divisions. Performances will start at approximately 9 am and run through 3pm. The Symposium officially concludes at 3 pm. See the Saturday schedule posted online at www.musicforall.org by June 19 for division performance times and locations.
