Over $25,000 has been donated since
Guitar Center's gift challenge!

Thank you to the BOA Alumni, Parents, Educators, Grandparents and Fans who have band together to make the campaign goal of $250,000 by February 28, 2009 achievable. We are 80% of the way to the goal with just over 3 days remaining!

Star LevelStar LevelStar Level

We now have Marian Catholic (IL), The Woodlands (TX) and Stephen F. Austin (TX) at the star level. I want to thank Greg Bimm, Brett Johnson, Dustin Winson, Betsy Heathcock and Dean Westman for reaching out to their respective programs and calling for support and participation.

BOA Patch

Plymouth-Canton EP (MI) is only $150 from reaching the star level; while, Centerville (OH), Harrison (GA) and Alan C. Pope (GA) continue to get closer. Again, special thanks to Lee Bonner, Martin Montoya, Brandon Barrometti, Wayne Markworth, David Vandewalker and Gary Gribble for also endorsing the campaign and encouraging alumni support.

As we all know, it takes a community of committed people to create a successful band. Likewise, the success of this campaign is dependent on the BOA community coming together and agreeing that Music for All's Bands of America programs provide lasting value to individual programs, educators' continued growth and the development of young minds. After countless conversations with many, lasting impact is always the common denominator. Join me in investing in something positive!

I want to encourage Carmel and Lawrence Central (both from IN) as each of these programs are within $500 of making the BOA patch level. L.D. Bell (TX), Broken Arrow (OK) and Avon (IN) are all within $1,200 of reaching the BOA patch level also. All of these schools have a rich tradition with BOA and have been Grand National Champions within the last dozen years. As such, these programs are admired by other BOA programs across the country and we need all of them to assume a leadership role today! I encourage the alumni from Lassiter (GA) and Westfield (TX) programs to accept this challenge to match the efforts of the fellow Grand National Champion bands, as both are admired and have been Grand National Champions in the same aforementioned time frame. Finally, let me thank all of you who have shared your personal testimonies. We have compiled all those shared in donations and entitled the document "The Faces of BOA." I hope you will visit the link, reflect on your BOA story and send it to us!

Don't forget about Scott Lang's donation of one, 2.5 hour leadership workshop to the school that raises the most TODAY. Fran Kick and Tim Lautzenheiser will donate the same TOMORROW, February 26, and Friday, February 27, respectively*. Three schools will receive a great bonus for supporting the campaign. Thank you to Scott, Fran and Tim for your kind contributions.

Please remember that the PULLANTHROPY bonus card offer expires on Saturday February 28, 2009. All contracts committing to the fundraiser must be signed by Saturday. The actual fundraising can take place anytime before the end of the 2009 school year. A signed agreement will allow us to book a $1,000 campaign pledge. Download a pdf of the PULLANTHROPY agreement for your consideration. Visit the website for more information.

Please stay tuned for further developments as we close in on our success in three short days!

Warmest regards,

Scott McCormick
