We are close to reaching the first $30,000 in the campaign and have a pledge for the last $30,000.
This is the first 24% of the $250,000 goal needed with just over six weeks left in the campaign.
We have received just over 200 new gifts with the average gift being just over $60.
Today we launch our BOA Text Club.
Join here or text BOA to 71813 to be registered to receive updates on the campaign.
Whether you have already given to the campaign, or are just considering and curious about how we are doing, please join the club today!
I have received a number of questions since we launched this campaign, here are a couple of the most frequently asked:
Q: In addition to raising contributed income, what is the organization doing to reduce expenses?
A: Since the economy began to turn significantly at the beginning of the fall, our management team has cut more than a half million dollars out of our expense budget.
Unfortunately, this has included a reduction in our workforce of 20%.
All remaining staff have taken a decrease in salary of 25, 20 and 15 percent based on their level within the organization for the remainder of our fiscal year.
Q: Is there a chance that Music for All (and BOA) will no longer exist?
A: If we do not successfully raise $250,000 by the end of February this is a distinct possibility.
While this answer may raise more questions or concerns for you, let me assure you that we are doing everything in our power to make sure that this organization is around for the next generation to have the same positive experiences that the first 1.25 million have had.
We need YOUR HELP to reach out to every alumnus of our programs and their parents, friends, educators and fans to donate at least $10 and reach out to at least 10 of their friends to do the same.
Visit www.bands.org/alumni/ and do your part.
In order to ensure success, this campaign must be viral.
Use Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo, MySpace and YouTube to reach as many people in your networks as possible.
Remember to sign up now to receive text updates on your mobile device.
We are grateful to those who made the first 200 contributions, but the work is far from done.
We need to grow this number into the thousands in order to reach our goal.
Leading Music for All is more than a job for me.
It is my life's work and for the past 25 plus years it has been my passion and commitment for positively impacting people's lives through music.
Join me in making certain that we can do this for the next generation as well.
