Finding the Groove™ is Now Open for Young Music Makers
Finding the Groove, the new virtual world where kids aged seven to twelve come and share their musical stories by uploading and sharing videos on a safe network designed for them, is now open for registration at findingthegroove.com.
The project is open to instrumental musicians, composers, singer-songwriters and vocalists of all styles or genres.
Children invited to join the Finding The Groove world premiere concerts will be given the opportunity to perform live onstage with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and at the Musical Arts Center in Bloomington this Fall.

Applications for the 2009 Music for All National Festival, presented by Yamaha, are now available for download.
This Festival is recognized as the epitome of music festivals in the nation.
Application and audition deadline for Concert Bands, Orchestras, Percussion Ensembles is Friday, June 13, 2008.

National Honor Ensembles for High School Musicians
There are two audition deadlines for the Honor Band of America, Gary W. Hill, conductor, and the Honor Orchestra of America, Larry J. Livingston, conductor.
The Early Bird Deadline for application is June 30, 2008, final deadline is September 1, with all audition recordings due September 15.
Jazz Band of America audition deadline is November 1.

New Middle School National Music Festival
The Music for All National Festival debuts a middle school ensemble stage in 2009!
All middle school orchestras are invited to apply.
All who apply will receive recorded and written feedback from the evaluation panel.
Invited middle school orchestras will share a concert hall with other invited middle school concert bands, orchestras and percussion ensembles, each presenting a concert and receiving a post-concert clinic.

The first marching event in the new stadium!
Sound Check at Lucas Oil Stadium
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity gives bands the chance to perform in the first marching event in the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Saturday, September 27.
Each band has a 15-minute time slot to use how they choose: as a chance to check out the acoustics of the stadium, as a performance with professional input from four BOA adjudicators or to compete in the event with a full BOA adjudication panel.

A new study has just been released on the attitudes of American business executives and public school superintendents toward creativity and innovation.
Key Findings of the report, "Ready to Innovate: Are Educators and Executives Aligned on the Creative Readiness of the U.S. Workforce?" are now available.
The report was made possible by Americans for the Arts in partnership with The Conference Board and American Association of School Administrators.

The Chief: William F. Ludwig II (1916 - 2008)
It is with deep regret that we report the passing of the patriarch of the Ludwig Drum Company, William F. Ludwig II, respectfully known as "The Chief."
Bill was 91 years old and has been in declining health for a few years.
The Chief passed from this Earth to his position as principal timpanist in heaven's orchestra on Saturday, March 22nd, 2008.
Music for All is proud that Mr. Ludwig was a past member of our Board of Directors.

Yamaha Sounds of Summer
The Yamaha Sounds of Summer (SOS) program is a series of percussion experiences across the country with Yamaha's renowned percussion artists.
The SOS camps are intended for percussionists grades 7 - 12 looking for a complete marching percussion training.
The National Percussion Symposium at the Music for All Summer Symposium is an extended Yamaha Sounds of Summer experience.
