Ubisoft and Music for All Partner to Support Active Music Creation and Education Via Jam Sessions

Ubisoft is partnering with Music for All to promote the value of music making for everyone through Ubisoft's unique Nintendo DS™ title, Jam Sessions - launching in North America September 12 at the manufacturer's suggested retail price of $29.99, rated "E-10."
Jam Sessions is a groundbreaking music title exclusively for the Nintendo DS™ system in which players actually strum a guitar via the Touch Screen to make music, learning the rhythms of guitar playing, chord sounds and progressions through imbedded songs and improvisation.
As part of the partnership, Jam Sessions will be available at Music for All's signature events - Bands of America Super Regional and Grand National Championships for people to play and experience first hand. Ubisoft will bring Music for All's mission to a wider audience through their promotions, advertising and packaging for Jam Sessions exposing the value of music making and music education to millions of people.

Louisiana Adds Music/Arts Mandate - Massachusetts Goes the Other Way
Governor Kathleen Blanco of Louisiana signed into law Act 175 mandating the visual and performing arts for all schools. Full implementation of the law is schedule for the 2010/2011 school year and will require all students to have music and the arts as a part of their basic education. The Louisiana law was largely based on the Arkansas legislation that mandated music and art instruction for all children starting with the 2005/2006 school year. Music for All worked closely with Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee along with music and arts advocates to pass the model legislation.
In Massachusetts, arts advocates are pushing the state Department of Education to make arts education a bigger part of recommended high school graduation requirements, which list music, art and related subjects as electives.
