Summit II Drum Circle Projects & Programs

Local Action
At Music for All, we are all about taking action and making a difference. The activities your members bring to the school and community offer the chance to build bridges, make connections, and have fun! These are the opportunities you can provide for people to gather, share, and connect through music. Projects are one-time or annual events, such as a Battle of the Bands concert. Programs are continuous and ongoing, like Music Mentoring. Music for All hubs empower local leaders so that project decision-making is based on the interests and needs of the community.

Spotlight Projects
One of our personal favorite projects is the Drum Circle. It is simple, visceral, and natural. Give a toddler a spoon and a pan and chances are she’ll start to bang on her improvised drum! We like the drum circle because it’s a way to get everyone in on the rich musical experience - from percussionists to principals.

We also like the Music Mentoring program. Like working with younger students? You can be a great example to budding musicians. It can be a fun and simple experience to give lessons. Dust off the old practice books and you will find a very handy teacher’s manual. Tell them how cool it is to be in band, orchestra, or choir. Let them know how much it rocks to play with your friends in your garage band.

Developing New Projects
As we develop our Network and gather more creative minds, we seek your input. Let your voice be heard! Send us your ideas for programs in service, leadership, advocacy, and more. At Music for All we like to share. When you join the Network, you will find a diverse collection of program ideas and templates geared toward advocacy, diversity, outreach and more!
