Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there any way that I can keep in touch with the people I meet at Music for All camps without becoming a member of a hub?
A: Absolutely! Becoming a member of the Virtual Network is our way of keeping you connected with your friends from Music for All programs and people who share your passions from across the country.
You don't need to be in a location-based Hub to join the Network, although we strongly recommend it so you can be involved in a community of music-enthusiasts in your region.
With a Virtual Membership in the Music for All Network you get the same membership benefits as a Hub Member.
You can read about the Benefits of Membership and dues here.
Q: When can I join the Music for All Network?
A: If you are joining as an individual, registration for the Virtual Network will open in early September.
Keep an eye on your e-mail for the official release date.
If your school or community organization is starting a Hub in the Network, you must fill out a Hub Registration Packet and turn in the appropriate forms and group dues.
Hub Registration is open now!
Q: I'm a band director and I am already over-involved all school year.
Will I have time to be a Hub Advisor?
A: Certainly. The Hub Advisor position is designed to guide and direct the members, allowing them to take the lead.
Advisors facilitate the group at times and mentor members.
A majority of the "leadership work" that needs to be done within the Hub is the responsibility of the student Team Leaders and Team Members.
At times, advisors will have to assume administrative responsibility within the school (i.e. building requests, consent forms, etc.).
The advisors may or may not be music educators, but must be employed at the school or organization in which the hub is established.
Consider recruiting faculty from the choir, orchestra, or other departments at your school.
Berkner H.S. in Richardson, TX is having great success by involving two English teachers with musical interests as the advisors.
