"Media Passes" are intended for official media outlets only (i.e. newspapers, television, radio). Please download the Media Credentials Policy below for more information.
A representative is required to show official media credentials in order to pick up a pass and must sign in at the ticket window with name and media outlet.
A student representative of a school's newspaper or yearbook may receive a Media Pass.
An adult who is the "official photographer" for a band does NOT qualify for a BOA event media pass.
If a director finds it necessary for them to go on the field then the director must give them one of their allotted Field Passes.
The Media Pass will gain the bearer access to the event for the purpose of news, information and image gathering.
It is not an additional band staff "field pass" or a ticket to the event.
It does not guarantee a seat at any event, nor does it allow for press box access.
Any abuse of the media pass by a representative of a participating band in the event will result in its revocation, and a possible penalty for the high school associated with the organization.
One credential can be reserved per person.
In the case of television news crews that require more than one pass, you can pick up the additional credential on site with valid station credential presented on site.

MEDIA CREDENTIALS POLICY
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A BOA EVENT MEDIA PASS?
Bands of America welcomes news media representatives who want to provide coverage of the event
and the hard-working young people and their supporters who make the events exciting and important
educational performance experiences.
ELIGIBLE: Bands of America event "Media Passes" are intended for representatives of official
news media outlets only (i.e. newspapers, television, radio, periodical publications), with
valid credentials from the news outlet they represent.
WHERE AND HOW ARE PASSES OBTAINED?
A media representative is required to show official working media credentials in order to pick up a
Bands of America event MEDIA pass and must sign in at the ticket window with name and media
outlet. See Video Recording Equipment policy below for further details on video.
STUDENT YEARBOOK OR SCHOOL NEWSPAPERS
ELIGIBLE for BOA Media Pass with valid school media credentials.
A student representative of a school's newspaper or yearbook may receive a media pass with valid school media credentials.
"BAND PHOTOGRAPHERS"
NOT eligible for BOA Media pass.
"Band photographers" who do not have valid media outlet credentials do NOT meet the criteria for a
Bands of America event MEDIA pass. Still photography of any kind MAY be used in the spectator
seating areas. "Official Band Photographers" are still allowed, so long as such person uses one of the
band's field passes in order to take photographs in the behind-the-scenes, pass-restricted preperformance
areas and such photos are not be sold, distributed, duplicated or placed on the web in any
downloadable fashion. Official Band Photographers must go into the spectator stands to shoot pictures
during performances. Their use must be for archival, band Web site or media purposes only. This
restriction applies to all who enter the stadium, including any band parents with field passes. Only
Jolesch Photography and official media with BOA-issued MEDIA passes will be allowed to
shoot from field level.
VIDEO RECORDING EQUIPMENT
VIDEO NEWS MEDIA passes will be issued by BOA to qualified broadcast television news media. No
video or audio recording devices are allowed into the stadium, including those with "band
videographers." Credentialed television news crews and BOA-pre-approved professional filmmakers are
the only exceptions. Credentialed television news crews must show their station credentials at the Will
Call Ticket Window and sign in. BOA staff on-site will be contacted to meet the camera person on-site.
Any camera person wishing to enter the stadium for any other purpose, including documentary
filmmakers, must have pre-approval in writing from BOA/Music for All. Requests, both in advance and
on-site, may be denied.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Use of cameras of any kind are NOT ALLOWED on the field (stadium floor) for any BOA event, except
for Jolesch Photography, the Official Photographer of BOA, and official news media with credentials.
Please communicate this to your parent/booster group. Still cameras (digital or film, professional or
otherwise) are allowed into the stadium and may be used from stadium seating, but not on the field.
Tripods or other similar equipment that may obstruct the view or path of travel of others in seating
areas are not allowed. The issuance of a "Field Pass" or other non-media BOA Credential does not
include the right to use a camera on the field. Pass holders must go into stadium spectator seating to
use their camera.
