The one-hundred and fourth installment of a new series on the blog that we will be posting throughout the month of December. As some of you are aware, Music for All will be taking an Honor Band to the 2017 Rose Parade. Our members were selected by audition for the ensemble and come from all across the United States. We are looking forward to coming together for the first time as a band at the end of December and we hope this series will allow us all to get to know some (hopefully most!) of the members of this awesome ensemble!

 BrandonW

Name: Brandon Wood

Hometown: Summerville, SC

School Name: Cane Bay High School

Section: Tenor Saxophone

What made you decide to apply to be a part of the band?
I applied because this is a once in a life-time opportunity to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade and because no one else in my school ever performed at a national level and I want to be the first.

What part of the trip are you most excited about?
I'm most excited about just being able to see California. I've never been to California and I think it would be awesome to snap some pictures while I'm there.

What are three things you've learned from being involved in band?
I be learned a lot about cooperating with other and perseverance. Being drum major has taught me how to lead large groups.

Most memorable moment in band?
My first time in the Cane Bay Bands we got into State finals for the first time ever and we were all so happy and cheerful that little ol' Cane Bay made it into Finals.

Besides band, what are you involved in at school?
I'm involved in NHS, My Alpha Theta, and Beta Club.

What's your favorite book?
Lord of the Rings by far.

What's your favorite song or piece of music?
My favorite pop song is Uptown Funk, but my favorite composer and all his music has to be Nobuo Uematsu.

Favorite movie?
The Hobbit Series

Favorite ice cream flavor?
Cookies and Cream

What's your current plan for what you want to do after graduating high school?
I want to go to a four-year college and major in Musical Composition so I can write music for video games.

Have you participated in MFA/BOA events before? Which ones?
No, this is my first one.

Tell us something interesting/unique about you:
I am a huge video game and compiter nerd. If I'm not doing something with band, I'm either playing tons of video games or doing something with computers.
